FitnessPlus: Fitness πŸ‹πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

FitnessPlus is a digital solution for fitness at home for people aged 50+. The idea of this product appeared from the market research and user group interviews conducted by omo Health.

The product launch was in the middle of a Corona pandemic lockdown. Therefore, many people of age did not have an opportunity to go to the fitness centers or attend classes organized by the sports clubs (Sportvereinen).

This platform functions like a digital personal trainer. After a quick onboarding, we suggest people fitness programs with easy or advanced difficulty levels. Afterward, users have an opportunity to have a private chat with a sports professional to optimize their fitness activity. The landing page of the product is presented below.

We built a product that is adjusting to user needs. Since the target audience can have some health complications, we ask them about their goals and health issues during the onboarding.

Our first fitness program is Fit fΓΌrs Wandern in 6 Wochen. It has two difficulty levels: standard and advanced. After the onboarding, we suggest one of the difficulty levels to our users. Later, they can switch to a more challenging program if the standard one is too easy for them.

After the onboarding, users appear on the home page, and we offer them a ready workout routine for today. When they return to the application, we indicate the weekday of the next workout. A fitness trainer working with us suggested that users should train not more than three times per week and have one day between the training sessions.

On every detail page of the fitness routine, we should get all information about it, including a safety note for people who have some health issues or injuries.

After the first week, users can review their progress on the My Progress (Mein Fortschritt) page and see how much time they spent exercising, their focus, and their feedback after the training sessions.

After the launch of the MVP, we conducted user testing sessions and interviews with people from Germany aged 63+ to understand how they understand the product and how they would organize their home workouts.

The user testing was conducted remotely, and I was using Maze. co. It contained three parts: An introduction, moderated user testing session, and then an interview where we discussed their emotions during the user testing session, the branding of the product, and what kind of fitness courses they would be most interested in.

This project was created together with a professional fitness trainer. Therefore, exercises and texts are adapted for the target audience aged 50+.

This application was created for omo Health.
